Korean Medicine Digital Convergence R&D aims to innovate the field by integrating traditional Korean medicine (TKM) with advanced digital technologies. This program establishes a TKM-based research support platform and applies bioinformatics, big data, and artificial intelligence (AI) to Korean medicine to promote research data standardization and management, develop TKM based health management tools, and create new diagnostic and therapeutic technologies, thereby contributing to the integration of Korean medicine into the modern healthcare system. The primary goals are to build a platform for collecting and utilizing clinical and research data, develop digital health technologies for Korean medicine, and establish a framework for the standardization of Korean medicine data. By leveraging advances in bio digital technologies, the program seeks to address longstanding challenges in TKM research and improve clinical outcomes through personalized health management solutions. In addition, it aims to develop a range of digital innovation technologies to enhance the global competitiveness of Korean medicine. Through this initiative, the program intends to promote the scientific, standardized, and industrial development of Korean medicine and, on this basis, contribute to the development of innovative products and services as well as the formation of industrial clusters. Ultimately, it seeks to accelerate the convergence of traditional and modern medicine to deliver higher-quality healthcare services and to secure international recognition and trust in the efficacy and effectiveness of Korean medicine.
